EBA&D seeks a professional for the position of Contracts Administrator reporting to the Contracts Compliance Manager.  The position will be located in Simsbury, CT.

Job Summary:

The Contracts Administrator is tasked with establishing and maintaining contractual agreements with Aerospace & Defense customers that facilitate: 1) a clear understanding of commitments, 2) balancing risk between the company and the customer, 3) timely invoicing and payment, 4) positive customer relations, and 5) accurate communication with the internal organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Contracts Administrator’s main responsibilities include:

  • Provide contract management support to the Aerospace and Defense Proposal team by ensuring proposal terms and conditions limit company risk and support business goals.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers to create negotiations plans and negotiate terms and pricing for new and revised DOD contacts, DOD related subcontracts and commercial contracts.
  • Serve as primary liaison between EBA&D and its customers and maintain a formal record documenting EBA&D’s contractual commitments that incorporates all agreed-to negotiation clarifications.
  • Review and reconcile Customer contract awards against EBA&D Proposals.
  • Review and negotiate Nondisclosure Agreements with Customers.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Represent contracts compliance organization with peer organizations and customers to develop plans, organize work, negotiate terms, monitor progress, and resolve problems.
  • May execute a variety of contractual actions and contracts.
  • Create and maintain documents in EBA&D’s ERP system.
  • Position performs and/or oversees a variety of associated administrative/staff support activities, some of which require excellent knowledge and skills such as database management and Microsoft suite (Excel, Word. PowerPoint,).
  • Handle basic issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.  

Requirements and Education:

Requires a Bachelor's degree (MA/MS and/or JD preferred) in business, finance, law, or engineering concentration with 2 to 5 years of work experience in government or commercial contracts administration, including an emphasis on interpreting contract requirements, terms and conditions evaluation and negotiation.  Contract administration experience in the aerospace and defense industry and experience working with the FAR/DFARs are both a plus. Knowledge of US Government export regulations is also desirable.

This position relies on sound judgment to ensure achievement of corporate business objectives and operational goals.  Responsible for interacting with all business segments.  Must be a U.S. citizen.
