EBA&D seeks an accomplished engineer for the position Development Engineer III, reporting to the Manager, Product Development. The position is located in Simsbury, CT. 


The Development Engineer is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical aspects of the project/product from concept through development, qualification and production. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Cost estimating and management for both proposal and program activity
  • Requirements generation, allocation and flow down
  • Development, maintenance and coordination of technical data packages
  • Risk assessment and closure plans
  • Product testing requirements and methods


The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of project, design or related engineering experience.  Mechanical and/or Chemical are the preferred engineering disciplines. 

Required experience includes:

  • Demonstrated competency in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Proven leadership of technical teams.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and with customers.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze mechanical, chemical and/or electrical specification requirements and data.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of explosive material ordnance devices and/or missile/launch vehicle systems as well as experience with manufacturing processes, rapid prototyping and/or product development. 
  • Experience with all Microsoft tools including Project; DOORS and other requirements management tools are a plus.
